Randy’s Donuts is a Los Angeles icon. Even if you’ve never been there, you’ve probably seen the giant donut erected on the roof. It beckons all who pass by, bringing you to a Homer Simpson-esque state of mind. “Doh-nutsss.” Did you say that aloud? It doesn’t matter. You find your car automatically pulling into the parking lot. You are on donut auto-pilot.
You look the menu up and down. Cake or raised? Glazed or iced?
You end up with two donuts. Or two dozen. Either way, it was worth it.
The Verdict?
Randy’s Donuts has been in Inglewood near LAX for over sixty years. They are open 24 hours, 7 days a week. The donuts were not trendy. They were not “fit for foodies” or some other BS term. They are your traditional donuts. They tasted great. I preferred the raised to the cake, but then I always have. And if you’re ever near LAX and have a little extra time, swing by Randy’s.
