Have you ever wondered what would make a person run for mayor or city council? I sat down with Lori Donchak, San Clemente City Council candidate, and asked about her motivations. I was suprised by what she told me.
Cloud 9 Bakers
Whenever I eat a brownie from Cloud 9 Bakers (which is probably too often), I feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven…or at least to Cloud 9. Lola, owner of Cloud 9 Bakers has created a line of gluten, wheat, dairy and soy free baked goods. Her products are organic and delectable.
VR Green Farms
Squash, greens, tomatoes, onions…sounds like a recipe, right? Actually it’s a basket of fruits and vegetables from Villa Romano Farms. Every other Friday, VR Green Farms delivers fresh baskets to my school for parents and faculty to purchase. The baskets have all the ingredients we’ll need to make dinner that night. Last Friday there were […]
Coming soon…
Busy, busy weekend! I interviewed some great people over at Villa Romano Farms and will upload the videos soon! In the meantime, enjoy perusing the site. More to come soon…
Roller Coaster Ridge Trail
Technically speaking, there is no trail or ridge officially named The Roller Coaster, but if there was, this would be it. This is a great double-track trail with hills that will get your heart pumping. Seafest!
It was a beautiful, clear day for the 23rd Annual San Clemente Seafest. The event included a battle for the best chowder, a surf contest, an arts and crafts exhibit and a business expo. My favorite parts were the chowder cook-off and the surf contest…oh, yeah, and of course, Captain Jack Sparrow.
Cafe 207
Okay, is this too good to be true? No corkage fee, free lunches at Ole’s Tavern on Sundays during football season AND fresh, delicious food? Well it is true…at Cafe 207.
The San Clemente Beach Trail
The San Clemente Beach Trail extends from the Metro Station parking lot at North Beach to Calafia State Beach in the south. It is basically a flat, fairly smooth crushed granite trail that’s shared by walkers, runners, bikers, dogs and strollers. Because it’s a flat out-and-back trail, you can make it as easy or challenging […]
Are you going to the San Clemente Seafest?
So are you going? I am. The 23rd Annual San Clemente Seafest will be held this Sunday, October 10. 2010 at the Pier. I’m mostly looking forward to the chowder cook-off. Locals, restaurants, and businesses contend for the best tasting chowder. I went last year and let me tell you, there’s going to be some […]
Remembering Penny
Now, I haven’t met your dogs. I’m sure they’re all fabulous. I’d like to tell you about my dog. She was the best damned dog ever (at least to me). Actually, to be fair I have to admit that she was Jeff’s dog. But it felt like she was mine. Penny was her name and […]
